2022 World Cup: Despite England’s 6-2 victory over Iran, Southgate was “disappointed.”

Gareth Southgate, England’s head coach, expressed disappointment after his team conceded twice against Iran on Monday.

The Three Lions won 6-2 to kick off their World Cup campaign in 2022.

Only an hour into the contest, Southgate’s men led 4-0.

But Mehdi Taremi pulled one back in the 65th minute and then converted a penalty with basically the last kick of the match to make it 6-2.

“To win by that margin and play the way we did for the majority of the game, really happy,” Southgate told reporters after the game.

“Our pressing was really good, movement really good. I’ve got to be happy but we should not be conceding two goals. We will have to be on it against United States.”
