Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, detained 300 cows in the state on Tuesday.
The cows were seized about two days before when the security team apprehended 100 cows along the busy Akure/Ilesa highway as the herders fled.
With the arrest of 300 cows by Amotekun Corps men for violating state government orders on free grazing and the use of underage herders, the total number of cows confiscated between Sunday and Tuesday was in the hundreds.
On Tuesday morning, there was strong vehicular traffic along the Oyemekun-Oba Adesida road up to Alagbaka as men from the Ondo Amotekun Corps transported 300 captured cows to their headquarters in Alagbaka while it was raining heavily.
The cows were allegedly apprehended on the outskirts of Akure, the state capital.
The vehicular traffic was induced by cows refusing to travel and congregating in one spot until they were whipped by Amotekun operatives.
