With his second-half goal against Newcastle, the African striker has now played in all three of his matches against Steve Bruce’s men this season.
Since Sanchez’s goal against Hull City in the 2014-15 season, he is the first Arsenal player to score in three consecutive games against an opponent in a single season.
Additionally, the former Borussia Dortmund man has also scored in each of his last five appearances against Newcastle in all competitions, to become the first player from the North London side to score in five consecutive matches against the same team.
In the process, he is within touching distance of Olivier Giroud’s feat during his time at the Emirates Stadium.
Before joining Chelsea in 2018 for an undisclosed fee, the France international netted in six straight games against Aston Villa between 2013-2016.
