This advice comes after Davido hinted at attempts to copyright the slang because the way it is being used in everyday conversations is out of control. According to Daniel Regha, a fan, E choke is a derogatory statement, but often people are mistaken because they think it is slang.

The fan added that Davido should be cautious of how he encourages the use of the slang as words are powerful and it might manifest.

“… E choke is a negative statement but a lot of people are being misled cos they believe it is a slang. Words are powerful, they manifest so be mindful of what you encourage”.
