Abeokuta Security Guard Suffocated To Death By Face Mask [Photo]
Solomon Ede in the cause of saving himself from contacting coronavirus has sent himself to an early grave while sleeping with his face mask. News gathered that the deceased was a habitual face mask wearer.

Baba Rita as popularly known, aged 50, was a private may-guard, very conscious of what’s happening around him, hence a good covid -19 compliant. On the 28 of August, he took his local gin (ogogoro) before sleeping and forgot to remove his face mask. Hence he was found dead the next day with the facemask intact, apparently being suffocated by the mask.
Sources said that the neighbors who came to fetch water from the compound deceased worked as a guard banged endlessly without Ede responding, and made the owner of the came looking for him, his door was strongly locked and they later open it and met Ede lying lifeless with his face mask on.

The boss dead who couldn’t bear the sight raised alarm, and neighbours gathered and blamed his addiction.

A lot of Sympathizers came consoling the deceased pregnant wife.

“BUT FOR THE NOISE FROM THOSE WHO CAME TO FETCH WATER IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THE DAY, NO ONE WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT A TRAGEDY HAD OCCURRED.”

“IT WAS WHEN THE DECEASeD FAILED TO COME OUT OF HIS APARTMENT TO ATTEND TO THOSE FETCHING WATER IN THE PREMISES OF THE HOUSE THAT HIS BOSS CAME OUT AND DISCOVERED HIS BODY.”

The employer reported the incident to the police. Information gathered it that the boss has already advised him to open an account so as to have savings before his death.

A neighbor said:

“EARLIER ON THE DAY OF HIS UNFORTUNATE DEATH, HIS EMPLOYER REMINDED HIM OF THEIR PREVIOUS DISCUSSION ABOUT OPENING A BANK ACCOUNT SO HE COULD BE PAYING HIS SALARY INTO THE ACCOUNT WITHOUT DELAY, ESPECIALLY WHEN HE IS OUT OF TOWN”.
