Covid-19 Africa: Over 2.8 million recovers across the continent

As of 22 January, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 3,364,291. The recorded deaths in Africa reached 82,789 and 2,809,930.

South Africa has the most confirmed cases-1,380,807-and 39,501 people have died. Other countries most affected are Morocco (463,706), Tunisia (190,884), Egypt (158,963), Ethiopia (159,715) and Nigeria (116,655).

The data are collected by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using information from the World Health Organisation and other international organisations as well as national and state public health departments.
