Hansi Flick, the chairman of Bayern Munich, has announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

Flick claimed this after his team’s 3-2 victory over Wolfsburg on Saturday.

In his first season in charge, the 56-year-old led Bayern to the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League titles.

“I told the team today that I informed the club during the week after the game in Paris that I would like to terminate my contract at the end of the season,” Flick told Sky Germany.

“It was important to me that the team heard it from me. I am very grateful that I was allowed to accompany the team.”

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer said of Flick’s announcement: “That was an emotional moment for all of us. We have to process that as a team first, because we had a very successful and beautiful time [under Flick].”
