One of Greenfield University’s students was eventually released by kidnappers on Tuesday, according to the victim’s mother, Lauretta Atahiru, in an interview with Channels TV.
The police, however, have yet to announce this new trend.
According to sources, the woman, the wife of a former Army officer from Plateau state, agreed to pay a ransom in exchange for her son’s release on Saturday.
Nevertheless, she has refused to give a detailed information of how he was released.
Based on gathered information from the victim’s parents, they have been contacted individually by the kidnappers to pay N100 million naira in lump sum and 10 motorcycles on Monday.
Following the release of the student, the fate of others has not been decided yet as their parents plead with the government and Nigerians for help.
