Gunmen accused of being kidnappers have abducted the traditional ruler of Ikuru City in Andoni Rivers State Local Government District, HRM Aarom Ikuru.
The palace spokesperson, Mr Maurice Ikuru, who confirmed the incident on Monday morning, 22 February, said the king had been abducted from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, 21 February.
Meanwhile, Nnamdi Omoni, a spokesperson for the State Police Command, announced that some boat passengers, including a lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, who had returned to Port Harcourt from Andoni, had been abducted by gunmen suspected of being pirates.
“I can confirm that some persons who were coming back from Andoni were ambushed and kidnapped. Investigation is on-going to get the details,” Omoni stated.
