In Benue, a commissioner was kidnapped.

On Saturday evening, unknown gunmen kidnapped Ekpe Ogbu, the Benue State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development.

Colonel Paul Hemba (retd), the state governor’s security adviser, confirmed the abduction, saying the commissioner was kidnapped at Adankari Junction on the Otukpo-Ado Road and that the victim’s vehicle had been recovered by police in Otukpo.

With over three reports of kidnappings, the Adankari Junction has become a hotspot for kidnappings.

Upon their release, the previous victims reportedly disclosed that the kidnappers were armed herdsmen terrorising local communities and commuters who ply the route.
