Kidnappers operating in the state of Niger released a video showing 21 commuters who were abducted along the Tegina-Zungeru highway in the Niger Rafi Local Government Area on Sunday, 14 February.
The victims were kidnapped while riding on a bus belonging to the Niger State Transport Authority (NSTA). A statement issued by the State Government on Tuesday, 16 February, confirmed that ten of the passengers had been released without a ransom payment.
There are rumours that the terrorists are seeking a ransom of N500 million to release the remaining victims into captivity.
