Lil Nas X, an American rapper and singer, has been named one of GQ’s 26th annual Men Of The Year Issue.
Montero Lamar Hill, aka Lil Nas X, was named musician of the year, while actor Tom Holland was named superhero of the year, and NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo was named athlete of the year.
The 22-year-old rap sensation was photographed cuddling up to a clone on the cover of GQ’s Men Of The Year issue.
Lil Nas X discussed his connection with his ex-boyfriend Ariza, who appeared in his That’s What I Want music video, with the publication.
He said: ‘I started actually dating my last boyfriend this past year, who I’m still on really good terms with.
‘I love him to death. He’s the best. I feel it was the most serious relationship I’ve ever had.’
As things didn’t work out between them, Lil Nas stressed the importance of self-love in the interview with playwright Jeremy O. Harris as he said: ‘I feel I still want to hang out with guys every now and then. I don’t want anything that’s — not to be a whore or anything, but I don’t want anything that’s like, ‘I need your time right now.
‘Sometimes, when you get sad or whatnot, you just want to go with somebody and cuddle and kiss and hug. And I love to do that. But ultimately, I feel I’ve gotten to a place where I have enough love for me that I can focus on myself.’
The star said that he wants love to fall on himself organically.
He explained: ‘And when the time comes [for love], I’m not going to force it or anything. There’ll be somebody, and I’ll say, “Okay, I want to make this person a priority.”‘
