The Government of Lagos has sealed off the Cuban nightclub, Ikeja GRA, for failing to comply with the COVID-19 guidelines.
Gboyega Akosile, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reported the production of a tweet from his Twitter account on Sunday.
According to him, the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, sent the club-goers out of the Cubana building before closing down the facility.
“Lagos State Commissioner of @PoliceNG CP Odumosu personally led a team that dispersed club attendees before shutting down Cubana, Ikeja GRA for failing to comply with COVID19 guidelines,” he said.
Recall that formerly Governor Sanwo-Olu had ordered all private schools and government in the state to be shut down indefinitely.
The Governor has ordered all Grade 14 and below civil employees, except emergency staff and first responders, to operate from home for the next two weeks beginning next week on Monday.
The governors’ instructions came after the Federal Government declared a second wave of COVID-19 pandemics in the world.
