Police in Delta apprehend a serial rapist and seize 9 female handbags, 13 sim cards, and tablets.

The Delta State Police Command apprehended Michael Ovie, 35, a suspected serial rapist, in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state.

 

DSP Dafe Bright, the command’s spokesperson, clarified this in a tweet, saying the perpetrator was apprehended by a joint team of police and army officers on Monday, March 22, after a covert enquiry.

 

According to DSP Edafe, the perpetrator, a motorcyclist, specialises in picking up underage girls at night and diverting them to the woods where he robs and rapes them at knifepoint.

 

Items recovered from the suspect include 9 handsets of different brands including an iPhone valued at N400, 000 reportedly stolen from his last victim.

 

Also recovered are nine female handbags, two pair of eyeglasses, five phone chargers, two ATM cards and thirteen sim cards.
