President Muhammadu Buhari has simply replied to the allegations that he plans to seize power

The Nigerian leader disclosed why he often visits his home town in Katsina state –

It has been reported that PMB has no plan of staying longer than the Nigerian constitution requires. 

He has revealed that come May 29th, 2023  he will hand over power to the next administration.

The president has continuously denied rumours of the third term agenda. 

He has revealed this on Friday, December 18, when he addressed the freed Kankara schoolboys and representatives of their parents in the banquet hall at the Katsina state government house.

 “I normally visit my home town because I swore by the holy Quran that I will safeguard the nation’s constitution, hence I must hand over power on May 29, 2023, to the next government”.

 “So, if God spares my life, I’ll definitely come home. This is why I always visit home’’ PMB claimed.

The president also has alleged that the kidnap of some students from a government-owned school in Kankara, Katsina state was a deliberate act to rubbish his regime. 

He claimed it was not a coincidence that the kidnap occurred on the very day he visited his hometown, Daura.

Buhari promised the rescued students that his government would do all it could to prevent future occurrence of the ugly incident. 

Meanwhile, following the series of insecurity across the country, President Buhari has finally accept that the effort of Nigeria’s security chiefs against dissent far more lacking.

The president made this known in a meeting held with the service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, December 17. 

He lamented the dreadful performance of the heads of security agencies in the fight against rebels in the country. 

In another news, Professor Usman Yusuf, a popular northern leader, has made a prophecy about the next general elections in Nigeria. 

Yusuf, the former executive secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), said politicians preparing for the 2023 election are living on false hope, according to the report. 

He emphatically said, given the level of insecurity in the country, the 2023 general elections would never hold, especially in the north.
