Thousands of Nigerians have taken to social media to express their outrage after Yomi Fabiyi protested Baba Ijesha’s detention at Panti in the early hours of today.

Fabiyi marched from the Casino bus stop to the Panti Police Station on Wednesday, accompanied by other demonstrators.

They asked that Baba Ijesha be freed from custody before his court case was heard.

The demonstrators could be seen holding placards and banners that read, among other things, “denial of bail for a bailable offense is a human rights violation,” “Nigeria police, please allow the law to dictate to you, not Iyabo Ojo, Princess, and co,” “release Baba Ijesha,” and “Nigeria police must respect human rights and honor bail for a bailable offense.”

See a photo below:

Fabiyi, who has been a vocal supporter of Baba Ijesha, called Baba Ijesha’s continued detention “illegal.”

However, reactions have followed, ranging from funny ones to the conscious ones.

ekunDAYO wrote; “Be like say Ijesha dey owe this guy money and he can’t get it if he is in jail.”

Adebayo Eniola wrote: “This Yomi Fabiyi is mad gan. How can you demand for the release of a confessed minor molester. You claim keeping him in custody is a Violation of human right. Its either you’re as foolish and ignorant as they say or you actually have an agenda against the victims guardian.”

OllyKween wrote: “So Yomi Fabiyi was able to pay 3 guys to join his protest for the detention of Baba Ijesha. I don’t support violation of human right nor paedophilia. But would he still lead this kind of protest if it was his daughter? Yes, law is law and same laws have exceptions. Be guided.”
