The Southern Governors’ Forum, SGF, has said unequivocally that any security agency conducting an operation in any of the region’s states must obtain authorisation from the state governor.
According to the SGF, the Governor is the state’s main security official.
Governor Rotimi of Ondo State, who read the statement after the closed-door meeting, remained silent on the recent arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB.
It also made no remark on the attack on the home of Yoruba independence hero Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
