Olanrewaju Omiyinka, also known as Baba Ijesha, the actor who was found raping a fourteen-year-old teenager, has now confessed his guilt.

According to Iyabo Ojo, an actress, businesswoman, and single mother of two, the star admitted to the crime after being trapped in the act and blamed it on the devil.

“Baba Ijesha is guilty!!!! He has confessed and admitted to the crime…I watched the CCTV footage, I saw him licking the victim and touching her all over and then he sent her to the kitchen to get him water and followed her there to complete the job and that was when the police came in to arrest him. He began crying and blaming the devil for pushing him to do it…….see, this issue has been on even before it reached the media, we were only waiting for the court’s judgement until it became full-blown” Iyabo Ojo stated in an Instagram live video where she cussed out actor Yomi Fabiyi for taking sides with Baba Ijesha.

Comedian Princess in a long emotional video had exposed popular Yoruba actor, Baba Ijesha for raping her foster daughter, a teenager. She revealed how Baba Ijesha committed the shameful acts during visits to her home in seek of help.

Recounting how she caught him on CCTV, Princess said “When he came in he saw me and the camera installers, then he asked who they were but I said they were from a cable company. I told him that I was going out and I will stay long so he should relax. In two seconds that I had left the house, he checked everywhere in my house to ensure that no one was home or the children were sleeping. He checked the whole house for cameras, then he started. I cannot even begin to say the things that he did. My body was shaking because we were monitoring it on the phone. At a point when she stood up to go to the kitchen, I knew that there was no camera in the kitchen so people came in and we called the police. The police came immediately to pick him up.

“I asked him, Lanre, what did I do to you. Because you know I do not have a child, people kept these children in my care so that I will not over-think and you did this to me. He said that I was his benefactor but it was the devil. He was just talking rubbish. I asked him what happened seven years ago but he was just begging me. They took him away. Every day we go to the police station from morning till night. Ever since it happened I cannot sleep. Some people called trying to threaten me.” Comedian Princess concluded.

Meanwhile, the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPPAN) has spoken out against actor Olarenwaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old child for 7 years.

TAMPPAN, in a statement signed by its Director of Research and Documentation, Yemi Amodu, and sent to Sunday Scoop on Saturday, said it would never endorse any heinous act but would work with the Lagos State Government to insure that justice is done.

The statement read in part, “We find it obligatory to condemn in totality the odious occurrence of paedophilia confessed to by Mr Olanrewaju James, aka Baba Ijesha, as confirmed by the police. Our association, TAMPPAN, is crestfallen about this act and will reproach and remonstrate the committer of such sexual harassment to prepubescent children.

“Considering the sensitivity of the case, which is still under investigation, TAMPPAN will never support all acts against what we preach and represent.

“As an association, we understand the mores and the social norms of our people and our behaviour will always be homiletic. Therefore, we would not fail to support the government in its bid to do justice towards ensuring that such ignoble acts are checked within our society.”

While sympathising with the parents of the victim, the association urged parents to encourage their children to freely express themselves and expose such acts.

It added, “We sympathise with the parents of the victim and also seize this opportunity to charge all parents to give their children or wards freedom to express themselves for the timely arrest of such horrible acts whenever such are committed.”
