The Department of State Services (DSS) confirmed the attack on the home of Yoruba nation activist Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo nicknamed Igboho in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Thursday night.
In the early hours of today, at 2 a.m., Igboho’s residence was broken into.
According to reports, the invasion lasted until approximately 5 a.m.
While confirming the raid, the DSS displayed 11 men and a woman detained following the violent struggle.
The agency’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Peter Afunanya, on Thursday night said the operatives recovered a cache of arms including seven AK-47 rifles and thousands of ammunition from Igboho’s house.
He said the suspects were taken to Abuja while Igboho escaped.
Afunanya stressed that the operatives has launched a manhunt for Igboho, adding that he will be tracked.
