Since observers determined that there is no sight of the crescent moon to assess the day of Eid-l-Fitr, an announcement was made minutes ago to continue the Ramadan fasting exercise.

Ses discoveries were made by astronomers stationed in various locations in Saudi Arabia, including Sumair and Tumair.

“The Crescent for the month of Shawwal 1442 was NOT SEEN today; subsequently #EidUlFitr will be on Thursday, May 13 2021,” Haramain Sharifain announced in a tweet moments ago.

Also, in a press release issued by Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, there has been no proven report of the crescent of Shawwal, 1442AH.

Deputy secretary-general to the organisation, Prof. Salisu Shehu, prayed for the Muslim ummah to celebrate a blissful and peaceful Eid on Thursday, May 13, 2021.

The extension came after the Federal Government of Nigeria declared Wednesday and Thursday as Eid-l-Fitr break.
