Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood has expressed sympathy for Leicester City forwards Kelechi Iheanacho.

He claims that the Nigerian is now untouchable for Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers.

Sherwood, on the other hand, claims he feels sorry for Iheanacho because the striker expected to play every minute at the King Power Stadium when he joined Leicester from Manchester City.

He said that, while the player’s dream of playing every game did not come true when he wanted it, Iheanacho is now an important part of the Leicester City squad.

According to him, Brendan Rodgers can no longer afford to drop the Super Eagles star from the starting lineup.

“It has been forced upon him (Brendan Rodgers) a little bit, there was no Maddison, there was no Ayoze Perez,” Sherwood said on Premier League Productions’ The Weekend Preview on Friday afternoon.

“He played him (Iheanacho) when Vardy was injured but he stuck with the two because you cannot drop him at the moment.

“He is undroppable, fantastic goals that he scores. I feel sorry for him, he has come from Manchester City, he probably thought he was going to play every minute of every game, didn’t materialize like that.

“Now he has kept himself right, he’s very professional, he’s had the opportunity and he’s showing everyone what he can do.”
