Madasiru Osama, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has donated 10,000 bags of 15kg rice to all internally displaced people (IDPs) in Borno State.
The rice also featured a portrait of Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State.
The rice donation was intended to alleviate the hardships endured by thousands of IDPs during the Holy Month of Ramadan fasting.
The head of the governing party has insisted that he has nothing to do with the rice.
The former Lagos State governor, however, praised the efforts of the numerous organisations for their benevolence in a statement issued by his Media Aide, Tunde Rahman.
“We have seen the images being circulated of bags of rice depicting Asiwaju’s face being distributed across parts of the North.
“I am not responsible for this initiative but l commend the efforts of the various volunteer groups responsible for this benign act of charity and love for one another, particularly in this Holy month of Ramadan,” the statement said.
