Emeka Rollas, National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, has threatened to sue Delta State politician Prince Kpokpogri for allegedly blackmailing Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh.
Emeka Rollas expressed her displeasure with recent events in an Instagram post, particularly after Tonto Dikeh’s leaked chat with her ex-boyfriend, Prince, inundated social media without her permission.
Many claimed that Prince Kpokpogri conspired with a blogger to use the actress’s recorded talks to blackmail her.
Emeka Rollas said they would use the Delta State politician to set an example to serve as a deterrent to people, including bloggers profiling Nollywood actresses for blackmail.
While warning its members to be careful with dating, the AGN president said they would no longer fold their hands and watch their members taken to public ridicule via invasion of privacy.
He wrote: Events of the last few days have shown that Actresses are now marked for blackmail especially hinging it on the basis of a relationship gone awry. But should it be a reason for publishing private conversations without the consent of the other party?
We shall use this one to set example to serve as a deterrent to all other persons including bloggers presently profiling actresses for blackmail to have a rethink.
We will no longer fold our hands and watch our members taken to public ridicule via invasion of privacy. We are also looking into cases where our certified members have taken to social media to call fellow members out or make statements that can bring disrepute to our Guild or cause disharmony among members.
