Patrick Vieira, a former France international and Arsenal icon, has been named as Crystal Palace’s next manager ahead of the upcoming season.
Crystal Palace made this information public on Sunday.
Vieira formerly coached in the Major Soccer League (MLS) for New York City FC and in Ligue 1 for Nice.
Following his appointment, former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger, who worked with Vieira as a player for nine seasons, praised Crystal Palace, saying that he would be a “great asset” to the club.
He told beIN Sports France: “First of all, he would be a great asset for Crystal Palace, and I also think that he has left such a mark on the Premier League’s pitch that I would like him to leave a mark outside the pitch.”
“We still wish him the best, and I think it would be great.”
