Mary Njoku, the CEO of ROK TV and a Nollywood actress, has revealed why people who aren’t connected to you show greater affection to you when you succeed.

The mother of three, who took to Instagram to express her feelings, said it’s understandable when people you grew up with refuse to accept you because you’ve accomplished more than they have.

According to the actress, strangers who knew nothing about your past life are those that would surprisingly show support and love in your career and business growth.

In her opinion, some of the friends you grew up with or families are full of bitterness and hate, thus spreading unrealistic rumours about your growth, which might destroy the image you have been building.

She wrote:

WHEN YOU ‘BLOW’ PEOPLE CLOSE TO YOU, FIND IT HARD TO ACCEPT THAT YOU CAME FROM THE SAME PLACE BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL THERE.

DON’T BE SURPRISED IF ALL THE LOVE AND SUPPORT COME FROM STRANGERS.
