Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, has dismissed allegations made by the presidency that he criticised President Muhammadu Buhari because he was denied contracts.
Mbaka called for President Buhari’s resignation last week, citing his failure to address the country’s growing security crisis.
Mbaka, who bemoaned the country’s current security and economic condition, asked the National Assembly to impeach the president if he did not resign.
Meanwhile, Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, said in a statement that the clergy were critical because the President did not grant him contracts.
According to the presidential spokesperson, Mbaka once paid a visit to the president at the State House, requesting a deal in exchange for his assistance in the 2015 and 2019 general elections.
On Sunday, however, the esteemed gospel preacher and prophet called the accusation “childish,” maintaining that his reality is “hitting them hard.”
The priest noted that his call for the president’s resignation was inspired by the Holy Spirit.
In his words: “I don’t want to talk about that because it’s a laughable and childish accusation. Whoever is saying that, is a shame to himself and shame to the people he is representing. Fr. Mbaka’s voice came from the spiritual. So what I’m saying is unchallengeable.
“With enormous joy, I am happy that the truth is hitting them hard. No amount of money can merchandise the Holy Ghost anointing in me. Fr Mbaka is unbribable. Even if they come and build the highest university here, that cannot bribe me.”
He, however, admitted that he led some security experts to the president before the 2019 general elections, stating that they were three men who offered to help in tackling the security crisis in the country.
“I don’t know them, but they came to Enugu and pleaded for me to link them to government. Because of the level of insecurity and how Nigeria has been moving oil outside the country. These are the three people they rejected their offer”, he added.
