Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno state, has joined the call for power to move to the south in 2023.
On Thursday, March 25, Governor Zulum spoke at the presentation of a book by Dakuku Perterside, former director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
“The issue of power rotation is a covenant between us hence the need to shift the power to the south.”he said
It makes no difference to him where the next president is from in the South. He advised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to heed his advice and adhere to previous deals to transfer power to the country’s south in the next administration.
Governor Zulum would not be the first governor to call for the South to regain power. In an interview last week, Katsina state governor Aminu Masari called for power to move to the south by 2023.
