Austin Jay Jay Okocha, a former Super Eagles player, has reacted to Robert Lewandowski’s penalty miss against Mexico in the World Cup on Tuesday.
In Poland’s goalless draw with Mexico in the second Group C match, Lewandowski blew a penalty-kick opportunity to win the game.
Argentina had previously been shocked by Saudi Arabia in the group stage, and Poland was given the opportunity to take all three points.
But Lewandowski put the ball in the hands of Mexican goalkeeper and Okocha told Supersport that Lewandowski only showed that he is only but a human being.
“Unfortunately, Lewandowski showed us that he is a human being after all with that miss,” Okocha said.
“You would have thought he is the right person to take it. He’s the right person to give them that advantage that they needed.
“It was a penalty. Moreno, didn’t make contact with the ball.”
