A yoghurt vendor named Jumoke was murdered by gunshots allegedly fired by a security officer dispersing Yoruba Nation agitators in Ojota, Lagos State.
Bullets were alleged to have cut the girl’s stomach, who was 14 at the time.
She was allegedly exhibiting beverages at a store when the bullet struck her.
As a throng gathered at the scene, her corpse was covered with a piece of fabric.
Recall that famous Yoruba nation agitator Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, and the head of IOO, Prof Banji Akintoye, had shown interest in attending the protest.
However, Lagos State Government and Commissioner of Police in the state two days ago warned the organisers of the rally to stay away from Lagos because they would not be allowed to stage the rally.
Both the government and the police said they took the step to prevent the rally from being hijacked by hoodlums, based on the experience of October 2020 #ENDSARS protest.
